Story:Cheung Ping is the eldest child of the emperor. Pretty and gentle, she is the favourite. 长平是大明的长公主，美丽而温柔，集万千宠爱于一身Her sister, Chiu Yan, is willful and beautiful as well. 她妹妹，昭仁公主，美丽却任性Their youngest brother is only a child. 她们最年幼的弟弟还未成年 Cheung Ping is very weak and gets sick easily. 长平体弱多病 Although the Emperor tries all sorts of ways, she does not get well. 即使皇帝用尽千方百计，她依然没有好转Since young, she has been engaged to Sai Hin.年少之时，她已经与世显订下婚约 Both are very much in love.彼此深爱对方 Sai Hin is a scholar general who is good in martial arts as well. 世显文武全才。He is equally worried over his fiancee's health.他同样担心他的未婚妻子的身子 In his battles with other states, he tries to find different remedies too to make her better.即使与外族作战，他依然不忘找寻各种灵药希望能医好长平的病
There is Eunuch Cho who causes a lot of trouble for the Emperor.朝中的左公公阴谋作乱 The emperor is a weakling under his control. 皇上势力在他的控制下越来越弱 The rash Chiu Yan tries to kill him in one attempt and fails.冲动的昭仁企图行刺但失败了 Yuk Fei passes by and saves her.袁若飞刚好经过并救了她 Chiu Yan is attracted to him and removes her veil, hoping that he will be attracted to her beauty.昭仁对他一见钟情，她摘下面纱希望他会被她的美貌所吸引 But he only smiles and walks off.但袁若飞只是笑笑便离开了 Chiu Yan is anxious and feigns to be injured.昭仁心急假装受伤
On the other hand, Cheung Ping reads her sister's note about assassinating Cho and is worried sick over her safety.另一方面，长平看过她妹妹要刺杀左公公的留书，十分担心以至牵动了病情 When seeing her coming home, she is so overjoyed that she faints.当她看到昭仁平安回来，喜极而晕倒 Yuk Fei is attracted by her beauty at first sight and hurries over to hold her.若飞一见长平，惊为天人，连忙上前扶起她 He is alarmed when feeling her weak pulse and immediately feeds her with the precious pills that he himself has made.他探得长平脉搏极弱，马上喂她自制的灵药 As you have guessed, Chiu Yan gets jealous when seeing him so concerned over her sister.你猜得没错，昭仁见他如此紧张姐姐心里嫉妒极了
Cheung Ping wakes up and sees the sulky expression on her face.长平醒来后见到昭仁脸上的不快 She then introduces herself and Yuk Fei is so DISAPPOINTED that she already belongs to someone else.她马上介绍自己，若飞得知她已名花有主时很失望 He quietly leaves but Chiu Yan gives him no peace, always pestering him when she has the chance.他静静地离开了但昭仁却依然死缠不放，让他无一刻安宁 And when she realises that there is no room in his heart for her, she kills herself.当她意识到他心里根本容不下她，她自杀了
Cheung Ping and Yuk Fei are badly affected by her death.昭仁的死，令长平和若飞大受打击 Although Yuk Fei still loves Cheung Ping, he does not tell her about his feelings as he knows that she will never accept him.虽然若飞依然深爱长平，他并没有告诉她因为他知道她永远不会接受他 Sai Hin returns from a battle and he is observant in guessing his thoughts.世显从前线返回，对若飞有所猜疑 But still, he says nothing and treats him like a good friend.但，他依然没有说什么，对他向朋友一样 Yuk Fei is touched and they become as close as brothers.若飞很感动，两人情同手足一样
Another poor soul will be Sum Kuai who has been secretly in love with Chiu Yan but is always ignored and ill-treated by her.另一个伤心人是吴三桂，他暗恋昭仁却不被重视而且还经常被她捉弄 Unlike Yuk Fei, Sum Kuai has come from a poor family and he thinks that Chiu Yan dislikes him because of this.与若飞不同，三桂出身卑微，他认为昭仁不喜欢他就是因为他的身世 He is heart-broken when Chiu Yan is dead.昭仁的死令他心碎 An opera artist, Yuen Yuen who looks exactly liks Chiu Yan, becomes his love later to his joy.歌姬陈圆圆与昭仁相貌极似，三桂的感情转移到她身上 Cheung Ping and Sai Hin are happy for him as they think that this is a made-up for the loss of Chiu Yan.长平和世显为他高兴，认为这是上天对他失去昭仁的弥补 Little do they know that he is still scheming and later he is the cause of the downfall of the Ming Dynasty. 但他们不知道，三桂依然在密谋，之后更成为明朝覆灭的罪魁祸首
